Valor Equine Therapy Services, Inc. (VETS) is pleased to announce the newest member of our staff:
Lorraine "Raine" Hellman Robertson, Counselor
Raine has a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice, a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, and a Master of Science in Counseling from the University of Providence (formerly University of Great Falls).
Raine also trained at Eagle Mount, Helena, Montana, under a clinical supervisor and is educated on how to utilize equine therapy simultaneously with traditional counseling working with adults and children. As a longtime owner of horses, she was able to integrate her love of horses with her occupation of counseling.
Raine is a licensed mental health counselor (PCLC) in Montana and a practicing therapist with children but has a wide range of experience with working with adolescents and adults. She uses a variety of theoretical perspectives and integrated approach in individual, family and group therapy sessions.
Extensive experience with veterans and first responders with PTSD, addictions and variety of mental health disorders and trauma.
Raine currently works with adults, children, and families with varied mental issues from trauma and PTSD to depression and grief. She works with children's conditions including ADHD and autism, assisted with a pilot research regarding the effects of equine therapy and children with mental disorders. Tremendous results in the integration of equine therapy with traditional therapy have been achieved. Raine utilizes evidence-based techniques and experiences in equine therapy include:

Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT)
Solution-focused play therapy
Group and marriage therapy
Raine is a therapist with a demonstrated record of successfully working with a diverse client population in one-on-one and group settings. She has a strong record of establishing solid relationships with clients, co-workers, administration and local agencies. Raine is proficient with respect to integrated and in-depth knowledge of principles, methods, and procedures for diagnosis and treatment.
